Making August Accessible: Online training courses for you

08 Jul 2026

August looks a little different at The Hub Events, and intentionally so. With the upcoming summer holidays, childcare juggling, warmer weather, and busier cities, we know it’s a month when flexibility really matters and making August accessible can ease the juggle. That’s why each year, we take a short break from face‑to‑face training and move all of our workshops online. Here’s why training in The Hub Events’ virtual classroom is the perfect way to develop your teams over the summer. Check out what we have in store for you this August.

Why invest in your professional development online in August?

It’s one of the rare moments in the year when things slow down just enough for people to breathe, and learn! With smaller teams, lighter diaries and more remote working, online training gives your people the chance to develop their skills without disruption.

By attending training courses virtually, you can learn at a time and date that suits you best. You don’t need to take extra days off from your organisation for travel or spend money on hotels. It’s simple, focused and consistently one of our most successful training months.

Here’s what’s coming up this August…

4th August 2026: Financial Awareness at Every Level: How Managers Drive Financial Results Daily

The best-run organisations ensure that everyone understands how their actions impact results, from taking a taxi to offering a customer a discount on their order. Most organisations set clear financial targets in terms of revenue, margin, costs and profit. However, beyond the senior leadership team, often many employees aren’t equipped with the full financial picture, leaving large sections of your business lacking confidence in financial decisions, how they are connected and the key actions that will move the needle most effectively.

This practical ‘how to’ workshop will help your organisation achieve alignment on your financial KPIs, with everyone understanding their part of the jigsaw and the contribution they can make.

5th August 2026: Transform from Manager to Leader

Build a strong foundation for leadership and learn how to step confidently into a more strategic role. This workshop will help you develop your leadership skills and lay the foundation for becoming a trusted, adaptive, and inspiring leader.

Leave the course understanding your strengths, your vision and values as a leader, reflect on leading with purpose, work on strategic thinking and make clear, effective decisions. Discover how to critique and improve the impact you have on others and how to use your strategy to drive performance.

6th and 20th August 2026: Finance for Non‑Financial Directors

When you sign off your accounts, are you completely sure that you’ve correctly understood the story they tell about your organisation’s financial health?

Designed specifically for non-finance directors and senior managers, this course will help demystify the world of finance, giving you a sound understanding of a whole range of financial concepts and skills. It will equip you with the skills needed to assess the financial health of your organisation accurately and with confidence. Strengthen your financial decision‑making and ensure you fully understand the implications of the strategic choices you make.

11th August 2026: Confidence to Succeed – Assertiveness for Women

Someone assertive behaves confidently and is not frightened to say what they want or believe. This course gives you a unique opportunity to think about managing your inner dialogue and learn how to project confidence – even when you’re not feeling it.

The course covers different types of leadership styles, with practical tools for decisive and bold action in challenging workplace situations. You’ll gain an understanding of the latest research on gender stereotypes around assertiveness and leave the day with practical methods to help you become more assertive and flourish in your career.

Explore how gender stereotypes shape assertiveness, and learn how to project confidence, set boundaries and build resilience.

12th August 2026: Women Advancing in Leadership

A reflective, practical space to explore your leadership identity, values and career goals, and the challenges unique to women in senior roles.

This course is for all female professionals, managers or directors who want to develop and progress in their career in a leadership role. The course gives you an opportunity to examine your leadership style, consider how it interacts with your personal values and career goals and identify how you can overcome the barriers you face as a female leader.

While supporting you to develop your leadership skill set, this course also gives you the opportunity to work with a group of female leaders experiencing similar challenges in their roles.

18th August 2026: The Power of Cash Flow: Strategies for Financial Strength

This workshop shows you how to track the cash flowing in and out of your business. We also look at the tools you can use to ensure that your business has enough cash, not just to survive, but to thrive; to grow and expand and to overcome challenges. We’ll explore the metrics that lenders and investors will want to see to gain reassurance around cash management in the business.
