We worked with a biopharmaceutical company, helping them to upskill their teams and navigate organisational changes with ease. The work they do is incredibly important, playing a part in developing potentially life-saving medicines. As a company, they recognised the need to support and empower their teams as they grow, implementing a high-performance culture, and adapt to the changes and challenges that come with culture change.
We put together a group of our trainers to deliver a range of in-house courses for their teams, helping them navigate change, supporting resilience and assertiveness and put in place practices that have even become part of the organisation’s development process. Find out more about their training experience and how we work together with organisations to tailor learning and development to their business objectives and growth plans.
Identifying the areas for training, development and growth.
The teams are experts at what they do, but as the organisation grows and changes, they recognised the need for their people to become more empowered, leading discussions and developing the skills to lead and influence others.
There is a company-wide focus on becoming a high-performance organisation. Couple that with the highly technical nature of the work that the teams are undertaking, and organisation-wide change and it creates a perfect recipe for stressful situations to arise. This was having a noticeable impact on the team. It was important to identify the issues and also ways in which teams could better respond to change and thrive in a high-performance culture.
Change is essential for a business to grow – but with change often comes uncertainty and pockets of stress for your teams. Their leaders recognised how management teams and project leaders needed to manage company and culture change and working with The Hub Events we created a programme of training to ensure their people felt empowered, engaged and productive.
Partnering with The Hub Events
The working relationship started when one of the leadership team attended The New Manager Bootcamp individually, and recognised that courses like this could have a wider benefit for the organisation.
The organisation has teams all over the globe, which can pose practical challenges navigating timings and logistics when it comes to training as a group. We worked to create training schedules that worked for staff in several different locations. Delivering courses online in the virtual classroom has been the most effective and convenient method for their teams. We planned a varied training programme to fit their needs, challenges and opportunities – here are a few of the courses in the programme that we’ve delivered for them so far…
Emotional Intelligence at Work with Joanne Spencer
Joanne worked with team leaders, along with potential leaders, to help them understand the importance of emotional intelligence for effective communication, empathy, and team management. They were also able to identify candidates for development in the future off the back of this course.
Building your Resilience at Work with Shona Ward
A business operating at a high level, whilst navigating cultural change at the same time, can bring challenges. Shona helped the team by giving them the tools they needed to manage some of the newer, high-stress projects that the team were facing.
Influencing Without Authority with Shona Ward
Shona once again helped the organisation’s mid-tier leaders to drive projects and influence outcomes without formal authority. It was also beneficial to some of the more introverted members of the team, helping them become more assertive, courageous and confident.
Fundamentals of Project Management with James Perryman
James helped the team with the demands of a high-performance organisation as they went through change. The course helped them to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and help teams deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
Presentation Skills with Shona Ward
A highly impactful course that delivers presentation tools and skills relevant in both a face to face or virtual environment, Shona took teams through all the essentials of great presentations from what makes an effective presentation and developing your own personal style, bring together attendees from across three separate time zones, UK and US East Coast and West Coast.
Development for the Future
As an organisation on a high-performance trajectory, there is still change and transformation ahead. With some members of the extended leadership team being newer to leadership and those in leadership roles who don’t necessarily have a background in change management, Managing Change is planned in as one of the next training courses to be delivered to the team. This course focuses on implementing and sustaining organisational changes effectively.
Working with The Hub Events
We’re very proud to be able to build such a strong relationship with this organisation. The courses we’ve been able to plan, shape and deliver for them have helped support them through change, whilst maintaining a high performance and productivity. In an industry like pharmaceuticals, this is essential. It’s great to know we can be a part of their people’s development as they recognise new talent in their teams and look to develop that talent into future leaders.
