Overview

The New Manager Bootcamp Part 2 is an intensive, one-day course to build upon foundational management skills and equip you with more advanced practical management skills and confidence.

In this management training course, you will work with other managers to share experiences and learn those skills and techniques to help you make a greater success of your early management role.

What you'll learn

  • Recognise leadership principles, the associated behaviours and how to link them to core business values
  • Understand your naturally preferred management style(s), including the respective pros and cons
  • Develop your self-awareness and how to demonstrate emotionally intelligent management
  • How to make the best use of your time whilst maintaining an overall work-life balance
  • Allowable and disallowable interruptions and how to manage, them including learning to say ‘no’
  • A framework for effective delegation, including the helpers and barriers
  • What is meant by coaching, a coaching relationship and a framework to help guide coaching conversations

This course gives you additional tools and skills to continue your journey of managing others, aswell as the chance to safely practice and explore the process of coaching someone without the need for unnatural roleplay based exercises.

Please note there is some overlap between the content of this course and Seriously Excellent Management / The Experienced Manager Bootcamp.

Who is it for?

This management training course is for anyone who has embarked on their first team leader/ line manager role and wants to continue their development journey.

It’s also appropriate for more senior managers, HR and L&D specialists who want to smooth their transition from team member to team leader within their organisation.

This course gives you additional tools and skills to continue your journey of managing others, aswell as the chance to safely practice and explore the process of coaching someone without the need for unnatural roleplay based exercises.

James has built up his experience over 20+ years working with organisations across many sectors including telecommunications, travel, insurance, banking and FMCG. His work spans the range and diversity of a typical business, running leadership and talent development programmes, providing 1:1 coaching and business consultancy. He is passionate about bringing clarity, direction and a sense of purpose to individuals, teams and organisations – all aimed at helping people and organisations grow and become better for themselves and their customers.

He is regularly invited to guest speak at events, often asked to share his expertise on people's natural behavioural and communication styles, and provide valuable ways in which people can adapt their own style to engage audiences when presenting, and win business when pitching.

James holds a number of qualifications in project management, emotional intelligence, behavioural and personality type tools, and is a professional member of the Professional Speakers Association.
