Recent dialogs amongst some of the world’s leaders suggest that businesses that invest in Women of Colour gain a more diverse perspective and win more business. In spite of this, representation in leadership is still very low. “Business in the Community” (BITC), a group founded by the Prince of Wales to support responsible business, found that Black people held just 1.5% of the 3.7m leadership positions across the UK’s public and private sectors in 2019, compared with 1.4% in 2014. This research suggests that businesses still have a lot to do to support and encourage them in their leadership pursuits.
How can a Woman of Colour navigate the day-to-day unspoken challenges of her role? The double-edged sword of race and gender puts them under a constant spotlight of scrutiny. This leadership training has been designed to enable talented women use their self-awareness in reinforcing their emotional intelligence, authenticity and agility.
It is aimed to support Women of Colour adapt daily habits and strategies in navigating the personal, organisational and political challenges of their role, without sacrificing their individuality and cultural identity. Participants will be encouraged to explore unique skills, tools and habits to enhance their impact as an effective leader.
